feedback for the group project

First, I am very happy with our group survey of the accupuncture because I entailed the knowledge of questionnaire design, data collection and analysis. Also, we corporated well in the group. Everyone was in charge of the specific duty. For example, Amir is our head in the group; he and Songul designed the questionnaire; Rain designed the powpoint show; Eunsook and I drew the conclusions for the survey. Furthermore, I realize the power of the unity for problem-solving through the project. In general, it is a successful group survey for us.

Study Journal 3

It is the fourth week that I study in EAP course. There are more and more assignments coming to us. Also, we began to prepare for some seessments in units of compurting and seminar presentation.

Firstly, what we learned in the computing class interests me most. It is a typical example of modern communication technologies which apply to the higher education system.

According to Padminis introduction, we found ourselves on TAFENSW websit. Every student whenn enrolled in a TAFE course is granted a User ID and a password. After that, he or she can login on TAFEs e-learn website with the ID and password. On the webpage, students will find their individual information as well as all teachers information. Through many fundctions which were extablished on the website, students can easily either chat with teachers and classmates on line, or submit assignment s by emials, or seek lectures in different subjests and son on.

Secondly, a difficulty in the reading is that I can not summarize articles concisely and accurately. Comparing with medels of summaries in the textbook, my summaries are much poorer.

Finally, we acquired the assignment of a report of herbal medicine this week. Since I not have concepts in mind how to write a qualified report, it is hard for me. I wish to get guidance at next weeks class.

Study Journal 2

This is the third week that we study in the EAP couse. The study becomes more and more intese and hard for us.

It is an interesting class of seminar presentation. At the beginning of the class, Sheila helped us brush up our minds by playing a game of guessing words. First, two students sat on heart seats against the whiteboard but facing other students. One volunteer student went to the board and filled in an adjective word which followed a sentence Things that are... Then other sudents gave the two students sitting on heart seats many clues by describing objects that have the smae feature as that word the wolunteer student wrote. Some easy words such as flying, the students sitting on the heart seat answered correctly fast, some hard words such colorless, the students sitting on the heart seat answered correctly slowly. In general, such method Sheila used is very effective to make us warm up and concentrate on the lesson.

In the reading class, the problem that my poor skill of summarizing paragraphs, expecially summarizing long paragraphs was found. i can not catch the main points. it is perhaps caused by slow reading speed.

In the listening class, I learned to adapt some wymbols and abbreviations to the not-taking. Therefore, my speed of note-taking is increased.

However, writing, especiallly academic writing is still the most difficult part for us. Now we know logical, rational, impersonal, precise features in academic writitng,Nevertheless, how to appply these characters to our own writing is challenge.

Turing to the personal issues, my customer from China contacted me this week and asked to supply wool that is one of my major responsibliltities at prvious work. Although I choose to study full-time, it seems I have to spend some in business later.

I am delighted to begin my EAP course in Granville TAFE.

It was an interesting library tour on Wednesday. We wereintroduced to use the library datbase which can be used both in our personal computers at home and TAFEs computers. The databases provide easy access to books, amgazines and newspaper articles. They are similar to a samall library in a computer that I have never known before. I will provide us convenient and efficient access to reference materials in later studies.

On the listening class, I found I have some difficulties in keeping dwon numbers which are over millions and billions and epoples anmes exactly. Meanwhile, for using symbols and abbreviations in note-taking, my skill is still poor.

By definging the features of an academic argument in writting classes, I am gradually able to judge academic essays from non-academic ones. I understand what differentiates personal opinions from academic positons.

In contrast to may revious sudy in Parramatta college, this course is complete, systematic and well-prepared by teachers. The topics we study and discuss in classes of four units are relevant and consistent. In such a way, it strenghterns our understandings of the same topic.

As the supplement of in-class study, I borrowed some reference books and DVDs from the library. After realizing my weakenesses in listening and writting, I must do more exercises at home.
